Do you have Instagram Shop on your website? Find out the best way to do this

I get many requests from people wanting to display their Instagram feed on their websites, and I always ask them the same question.

What’s the purpose of displaying your Instagram feed on your homepage?

I mean, it can help them to share their story and showcase their products.

Or get them more followers on Instagram.

Or even get them more sales.

To be honest, displaying the Instagram feed can be visually appealing on the website, but it actually brings very limited results.

Unless you have an action you want people to take, they aren’t going to take any action.

Your customers are on your website to shop. So, why not provide them the ability to shop from your Instagram feed?

Let’s take a look at some of the examples:

1.) Scarlette the label

Under the title “Shop the gram”, you can see a stunning display of Instagram photos. But when you click on one, it simply takes you to the actual post on Instagram.

Do you know what happens when you direct people to any social media platform?

They aren’t going to come back.

They are bound to get distracted with other visually appealing content from other brands.

So, although the Instagram feed is stunning, it does the opposite of what the action is intended to do: “Shop the gram”.

Are you making a similar mistake on your website?

Let’s have a look at another example before we see the best way to do this.

2.) Shop Skirt

By looking at their Instagram feed, you can see that they have put a lot of effort into creating the photos and video content.

I am sure their customers love it.

But when you click on the feed, it simply opens up the popup that displays the Instagram post.

What if the customer wants to buy the product directly from the feed? There’s no easy way to get to the product and buy it.

When you provide your customers with an easy way to buy, they are more likely to make the purchase.

So, what’s the best way to display an Instagram feed on your website?

Well, the one that I have had the best results with is the one that showcases the Instagram feed and when you hover over the photos/videos, it highlights the products that are tagged to the feed. Here’s an example below:

You see how easy it is for customers to navigate to the product when the Instagram feed is set up correctly?

This small change will greatly improve the customer’s experience and boost sales in the process.
