We helped MVP Sports with creating a custom mega menu to display 36 collection links and their logos under each menu item.
MVP Sports reached out to us to create a custom mega menu in order to help them display collection links along with the logos assigned to those collections.
The requirement was to display collection links so that it's easy for their visitors to get an overview of the list of teams and product collections that are available.
To make it easy for visitors to identify the teams, the logos were added to the collection links as well.
The Process
The first step was to identify how many links to display in each column so that the dropdown remains above the fold. We could fit only 8 links per column and created the code using using the inbuilt Shopify navigation. The inbuilt Shopify navigation can be configured in multiple ways and should be used so that it's easy for you as a Shopify store owner to manage it instead of using another app that you'll have to pay every month.
The logos were also displayed next to the collection links using the link list object. Link list object helped us to load the logo images quickly instead of using featured collection images.
Results
The custom mega menu was completed within 5 working days. It was also tested extensively for any design or mobile issues.
